The Rafferty Group works closely with Newbury Living and local governments to redevelop neighborhoods and provide affordable housing for the community. Through the use of low income housing tax credits, community development block grants, state programs, and local incentives, the Rafferty Group has assisted in developing housing projects in numerous communities. Those communities include larger cities, such as Des Moines, Davenport and Bettendorf, as well as smaller communities.
The projects involve complicated financing and require close coordination with federal, state and local government agencies, including federal agencies such as HUD, USDA, state agencies such as the Iowa Finance Authority and the Iowa Economic Development Authority, and local entities such as housing trust funds, economic development organizations and city agencies.
